I went to a conference today that truly peeked my interest in social media.  Using Facebook and Twitter to connect people with people or people with products.  So today I made myself a promise.  Today I promise to send more pictures of the things I make to help people obtain a custom made feel without paying a pretty penny.  I make this promise to encourage a conversation between people, spark a flame of creativity, and unite us for a common goal...a beautiful wedding.  So let's getting talking!  I'll go first.  Follow me on Twitter @2H2HDesigns or Like me on Facebook at 2 Have & 2 Hold Designs.

Who says you have to be like every other bride?  This month I've had the pleasure of working with a bride who is challenging the typical.  It's really refreshing!  Pick a wedding color that says a statement.  Trade up from pew bows to vintage looking pew cones.  Go over the top with 2 different centerpieces.  Notice I said "2 different" centerpieces.  Don't go to wild with 16 different table settings.  That makes more work for me as a designer but it looks a mess.  Unless being different is the theme of your wedding.  But above all, have fun!  This is the one time (outside of giving birth) that you will be treated like a queen of everything.  Enjoy this creative process you are embarking on and take me with you on your journey.

You don't have to be the most creative person to have a beautifully designed wedding.  You just need a creative partner.  Your wedding planner or event coordinator should be your creative partner.  As the owner of 2 Have & 2 Hold Designs, my mission is to be the best creative wedding planning partner a bride will ever need.  I'm working towards hosting floral working sessions with brides.  This is my latest brain child!  I've spent most of the weekend thinking about centerpieces for a bride that can't afford a large floral on every table.  The best thought I had today was she needs to see what could be if some flowers were used.  She needs to see her reception tables dressed for dinner but naked in the center.  The most impressive part of a reception is to walk into the room for the first time and see it all dressed up for a dinner.  So brides don't be afraid to ask for a working session with your creative wedding planning partner.  This is the best look into your special day!

“Shades of Wedding Bliss” is not your typical bridal fair.  Some of the finest vendors are joining me on May 2nd at the City Clubhouse (3016 Locust).  It will be a swanky and personable affair.  Come try out make-up, see photos that tell a wedding story, sample wedding cakes that are too die for.  I really can't wait to see you all there.  I'll be the one in the bright pink shirt.  It's my daughter's favorite color!

Much has changed since I last posted.  The brunch portion of the event has been dropped and we added "Wed Ed" targeting DIY Brides.  This will give participants a chance to talk exclusively with wedding professionals.  The date has been pushed back one week to March 14th.  Hopefully that's enough time to line up vendors, participants, and fun activities to last the entire day.  Ok only 4 hours but that's a full day for me.
